IKEA - Burbank

The Burbank Ikea is slated to open in the spring of 2017. On the current site, 19 buildings, totaling 455,00 square feet, were demolished to construct a new, larger store, less than one mile away from the company’s current Burbank location. The future 456,000-square-foot store and its more than 1,700 parking spaces will be built on 22 acres west of San Fernando Boulevard and south of Providencia Avenue, providing customers with improved accessibility. IKEA has contracted with VCC Construction to build the store and hopes to install a similar solar energy system as part of the relocated store.

Torrance Circle - Redondo Beach

The city of Redondo Beach installed a contrasting set of Aqua-Swirl Hydrodynamic Units to remove stormwater runoff containing sediment and trash.

An Aqua-Swirl AS-12s and AS-2s were installed with ease with quite a difference in scale having a 12-foot and 30" internal diameters. In addition, the respective weights for these units were 12,000 lbs and 800 lbs, yet still were easily installed with on-site equipment.

These stormwater quality units are trash capture certified by the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board).
